Finely dice the onions, sun-dried tomatoes and garlic. Place in a pan with the oil and fry. Add the diced bacon. Season with salt, pepper, chili and sugar. Stir in the barbecue sauce. Put the mixture to one side.
Make deep cuts lengthwise and crosswise in the bread so that the gaps can be filled. Use a tablespoon to spoon the mixture into the bread. Place the cheese slices in the openings and gratinate the bread on the pizza stone at 180 degrees for approx. 15 minutes.
The bread goes perfectly with any cozy barbecue evening.
