Preparation the day before:
The first thing to do the day before the barbecue is to make the marinade. To do this, cut the onions (except for the green onion) into thin strips and finely chop the garlic. Then put all the ingredients for the marinade in a bowl and mix well. Finally, add the meat and leave to marinate overnight in the fridge.
The barbecue:
The next day, prepare the barbecue to 180°C indirect heat.
The next step is to take the meat out of the fridge and layer it on the skewer: To do this, first cut the vegetable onion in half. Slide one half directly onto the skewer. Then layer the meat on the skewer and finally push the second half of the onion onto the skewer and press the whole thing together a little.
In the meantime, the grill should have reached the desired 180°C so that the skewer can be inserted.
After approx. 25 minutes, the meat should be ready for the first cut. This can be easily seen from the color of the meat, which should now be nice and crispy and brown. The whole process is repeated in short intervals until all the meat is down.
Have fun with the barbecue.
